Westfield infant school raise over £500 towards Christmas lunch for elderly members of their community.

Yet again children at Westfield infant school the  staff and parents, have raised over £500 at their harvest festival assembly. As in previous years they have donated the proceeds to The Westfield Luncheon Club, which provides weekly support to local socially isolated and disabled elderly people.

The funds will go to provide the annual Christmas meal and celebration for luncheon Club members. At a recent School assembly to receive a cheque for over £500 Dave Roberts head of Westfield community centre thanked the children, the staff and parents for their generosity. He said the Christmas lunch which the donation will go towards is one of the highlights of the year for the group not least because the school Choir comes over to the community centre to join in the celebration and sing carols and other festive songs. Which is always greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all.
