CADENT VOLUNTEERS TRANSFORM WESTFIELD’S PRE-SCHOOL AND CHILDREN CENTRE BUILDING

Over two days a veritable army of Cadent (formerly National Grid ) volunteers descended on Westfield with painting and decorating materials to completely transform the very tired looking Annex building at the Westfield Community  Centre.

Supported by “Volunteeringmatters”  nearly 30 volunteers set about sanding down repairing painting and  creosoting .

Head of centre Dave Roberts was joined by Pre-school staff and children to thank both the “Volunteeringmatters” project staff and all the Cadent volunteers who gave their time and energy to transform the building . “it really has lifted the building and of course saved the community centre many thousands of pounds which can best be spent on delivering our vital services”  he said.It is the second occasion in five years that Cadent staff have volunteered at the centre and He said he looked forward to an ongoing relationship with Cadent volunteers.
